A father trying to mend his relationship with his wife and save his family finds himself in the midst of the coup attempt on the night of July 15th with his son. Cihangir, an engineer at TÜRKSAT, tries to prevent the coup plotters from cutting off broadcasts and breaking the people’s resistance. At the same time, Cihangir is also striving to protect his son and win back his family. In the end, Cihangir emerges victorious and becomes a true hero on his son Can’s birthday by fighting against the coup plotters.

Robert Vas escaped from his homeland after the brutal crushing of the 1956 Hungarian Uprising by the Russians and he was never able to return. He portrays his country through the writings of Hungary's national poets and illustrates the film with images of the Revolution and of the society it would become in the years immediately following 1956. The film was transmitted on the 20th anniversary of the crushing of the uprising.

Credit to the BBC for trying to promote new Director talent. It seems that it wasn't found anywhere on this production, I'm afraid. What we've got here is an overly-long, self-indulgent one-trick-pony of a program where Lawrence goes around asking people if they think having a small penis is a problem. It all seems false - false, stilted encounters with friends and family, and false emotions from Lawrence. In particular, as he revisits his old school, with lots of emotional moments as Lawrence re-lives his school days, trying desperately to squeeze out a tear.
